This picture has nothing to do with this post other than they were the half time entertainment, too. I thought you might enjoy this pic, I did.
When I started this blog I shared what all the kids were into and I haven't really updated the info since. These days, Riley is an 8th grade Cheerleader at Washington Middle School. She is also taking a competitive cheerleading class at our local dance school.
This week they got to perform at a couple of the Jr. College's Basketball games.
Some of the other things she does with her time is playing the bass guitar at church, and she is also on her school's academic olympic team. If you didn't already know, I am a proud Mama! She is a sweet, darling, humble, Jesus loving, about to be 14 year old! And yes, I do believe cheerleading is valuable experience for life. I am one of my kids loudest cheerleaders!

Happy Valentine's/Birthday To Bailee
Sunday, Feb. 15th was Bailee's 8th Birthday! Happy Birthday my Beautiful Bouncy Bailee!
Saturday, Feb. 14th we went to a fundraiser for our town to build a swimming pool. Bailee got to pick out her swimming pool cake at the dessert auction.
Riley got to be a "Vanna White" for the evening as she helped display and deliver the desserts to the winners! To her dismay, she didn't get to wear an evening gown. She had to wear her dance school's t-shirt.
I am trying to keep the boys out of Bailee's cake until we can sing to her! We had to light her candles twice due to Charlie's preemptive blow!

We had a great Valentine's Day, we hope you did too!

Why Is It?
Why is it that they want the one toy you can't find and the only thing that will console them is the toy in the other one's hand? Which will only make that one cry!!!
Why is it when you say "We don't say butt" they respond with "BUT why?"
Why is it that they always seem to have that dirty diaper right before your about to be really late?
Why is it when you work so hard at getting them so clean and so cute they get so dirty and so uncute with almost no effort at all?
Why is it that you count the minutes until bedtime and then the moment they fall asleep you wish they were awake?
Why is it that when they complain about dinner and you threaten to make oatmeal for the next week they say "YAY"?
Why is it that the moment you get on the phone there is a bloody crisis?
Why is it when you feel like a hideously ugly mess they say "you so pretty mommy"?
Why is it in all of the 24 hours of the day the only time you don't have to remind them to brush their teeth is AFTER bedtime?
Why is it you plan all year long for your one freakin' get away and the very instant you get on the road your heart throbs with a rhythm of missing them that doesn't stop until you are home again with them in your arms!
Why is it I'm out of milk AGAIN and I hate milk?!?!

Answered Prayer!
Brady and I took our Riley, one of her friends and our Hallie to a Christian concert Friday night in Billings. There were four bands playing Anberlin, Madina Lake, Goodnight Sunrise, Between The Trees. They were selling panties at the concert and alcohol, yes, I said this was a Christian Concert! Even still, it was a blessing in so many different ways. My first instinct was to drive home as fast as I could (cause I like to drive fast) and lock all of our girls in the gun-safe for SEVERAL YEARS. But seriously, it did make me step up my prayers for them this week.
Another blessing was one of the songs that has been ringing in my ears is called "Unwinding Cable Car." One of the lines in that song is....
"So self-absorbed, you've seemed to ignore the prayers that have already come about."
In an effort to avoid this travesty in my own spiritual walk. I must share an answered prayer. When we moved to Montana we left a big community church with an amazing worship music ministry. Montana has left us with... lets just say room for improvement. We haven't known most of the songs they sing here. Worship isn't a verb for them yet. Their songs are horizontal, not vertical. There is a really great church in Billings we have visited occasionally. I have been moved to tears on more than one occasion simply because I miss true corporate worship. Long story short, after months of prayers and times of fasting I have seen answers to not only my prayers but the prayers of others who have lived here longer than I.
The past four Sundays at our small church we have corporately worshiped. The coolest part for me personally is my husband and daughter have been instrumental (pun intended) to accomplish this task. Our church now has a cowboy early service and a contemporary service. Hallelujah! Brady is directing the contemporary worship and playing the guitar (which he learned in less than a year) and Riley is playing the bass guitar which she started less than a year ago as well! One of our best friends, John, is leading the singing.
I never thought in a million years God would use my husband and my daughter to fulfill my heart's desire to worship HIM here in Montana. He does far more than we ask or imagine!
